About Maddy Paxman
I trained as an Alexander Teacher at the Constructive Teaching Centre in London, with the late Walter Carrington. The training course is three years, full-time, and I am a member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique.

Prior to this I taught singing, piano and musicianship. I hold an LGSM from the Guildhall School of Music and I was a tutor at the City Lit Institute in London for many years, specialising in singing classes for people who think they are “tone-deaf”. I also worked in schools and from home. I first came to the Technique as a result of problems with my wrists while playing the piano, and have based my voice teaching on its principles.

Alexander lessons are one-to-one, in my home, and last about 40 minutes. Many people experience a feeling of lightness and calm after a lesson: however, for longer term benefit it is best to come for a series of lessons.
